Originally called the Lincoln (Neb.) Peace Council and founded in 1935, the Nebraska Peace Council was a clearinghouse for organizations having programs for peace education or action, and for supporting individuals such as draft resisters. It used a system of blockworkers who travelled within certain voting districts to disseminate peace action information. Leon Thomson was the Executive Secretary.
